Involvement

Membership in an alumnae chapter allows a way to continue our lifelong commitment to the ideals of Alpha Omicron Pi and binds us with a closer tie to the Fraternity as a whole. Our chapters work diligently to fulfill our mission to help and support collegiate chapters and provide useful service to the Fraternity and the greater world around us.

Alumnae chapter members support our collegiate chapters in a variety of ways. They may serve as advisers to the chapter, help with recruitment by attending workshops and providing

meals, complete MIFs, and/or send final exam goody bags. Alumnae chapter members also support our collegians by participating in career mentoring events, supporting members in academics, providing scholarships, and partnering on events such as Founders’ Day and Jingle Bell Run.

When an alumnae chapter assists our collegiate sisters, it allows them the opportunity to serve and lets the collegiate members see the value of AOII for a lifetime.

International Volunteer Opportunities

As a membership-based organization, AOII relies heavily on volunteer involvement from our alumnae members to function. Regardless of members’ interest, experience, or location, there are many options as to how you can volunteer your time and talents to Alpha Omicron Pi.

AOII’s Human Resources Committee (HRC) is charged with the responsibility of cultivating and recruiting a broad, diversified base of volunteers from the membership of Alpha Omicron Pi.

The committee solicits and accepts applications from potential volunteers and then researches those applications to identify candidates for appointed offices. The Committee also identifies volunteers with the special talents or expertise needed to assist the Fraternity with specific projects.

Ambassador Programs

The Fraternity provides two volunteer alumnae ambassador programs.

The Recruitment Ambassador program educates and prepares a select group of volunteers and deploys them to provide recruitment trainings and workshops to our collegiate chapters. The purpose of this program is to provide education that focuses on the specific skills that assist with cultivating relationships and communicating our values.

The Training Ambassador program enhances the service and support provided to two critical groups: Alumnae Advisory

Committees (AACs) and the collegiate chapters in which our AACs support. The program educates and prepares a select group of volunteers and deploys them to provide trainings to local Alumnae Advisory Committees. The purpose of this program is to offer education that develops personal leadership skills, improves communication, and enhances interpersonal relationships.
